We're thrilled that one of Keep it in Kent's most recent GOLD members: The Hythe Imperial Hotel will be the venue for our next Get Together, including our New Year's Honours Awards presentations!
The "Garden of England" is of course well known for its wonderful farms and abundance of coastline and associated food production... All of us foodies particularly appreciate the wealth of wonderful food producers and food related businesses in our county - but of course it doesn't stop there. We have shining examples of businesses that deliver consistently high quality services and products across all sectors and across the whole of Kent that we can be proud of.
The Keep it in Kent New Year's Honours awards are our small way of acknowledging, thanking and highlighting a handful of busiesses that we are particularly proud of - not just for the work and the contributions they make to the economy and the people of Kent, but also for their collective contribution to the Kent Business Sector as a whole. Not only do they offer outstanding quality, they make a contribution to the local economy/community that goes above and beyond their own success, and they are helping to give Kent Businesses a good name, not to mention giving the (inter)national chains a run for their money in the process!
Overview of the event
We'll start the event as usual with a quick catch-up from Steve and Tina about all the latest Keep it in Kent developments and plans, and then we'll begin the presentation of New Year's Honours awards to the businesses that we are honouring this year. It will be an opportunity for you to hear about why we feel each of the chosen businesses deserve to be honoured, and also to hear one or two stories and insights from the business owners themselves about their approach to business, and their journeys so far...
We'll hold a short interactive focus-group session in which you'll have an opportunity to consider and share with us what you'd like Keep it in Kent to focus on in the coming year - and to identify any areas in which you think we can make a real impact on the success of the Kent business community as a whole.
We'll then announce the recipients of our three special GOLD awards, as voted by the residents and businesses of Kent during the month since announcing the shortlist on New Year's Day.
Dress code will be business attire/smart casual.
Finally, there will be time for some informal networking with fellow Keep it in Kent supporters, and to enjoy the canapes and refreshments provided by the Hythe Imperial Hotel.
We’re keen to make the Keep it in Kent events as popular and welcoming as possible. All business members of Keep it in Kent are invited to attend our events free of charge as part of their membership.*
If you (or anyone you know) would like to join Keep it in Kent as a business member, the cost is from just £50 +VAT a year, and one or two people from your business will be able to attend any/all of our events throughout the year free of charge, depending on the level of membership you choose. Anyone who supports the Keep it in Kent campaign is very welcome to attend as a guest. If they’re not a member yet themselves, and not a member's designated “plus one”, then they will be asked to pay a contribution of £10 +VAT.
Whether you’re coming as a member, a plus one or as a guest, we ask that you register here via Eventbrite by Friday 29th January at the latest, so we can keep the venue informed of numbers.
